Editorial Policy
Gold Updates is committed to accurate, honest, and independent content. This policy explains how articles are prepared, how errors are handled, and the boundary between information and financial advice.
Accuracy First
Accuracy is the site's highest editorial priority, because readers use its prices and guides to make real money decisions. Prices are drawn from the public feeds described in the Data Sources and Methodology page, calculations use standard conversion factors, and articles are checked for factual errors before publication.
Where a figure is an estimate, an average, or an illustration rather than a live market value, the article says so. The site does not present illustrative examples as real prices, and it does not publish statistics, forecasts, or market claims that it cannot support.
No Invented Data
The site never invents prices, statistics, or market data. If a feed is unavailable, the site shows the last known value marked as stale, or withholds the figure, rather than substituting a plausible-looking number. If a fact cannot be verified from a reliable source, it is left out or clearly described as uncertain.
This rule applies to articles as well as to price displays. Guides explain concepts and methods, and where they use worked examples, the examples are presented as illustrations of the method, not as records of actual transactions.
Independence
Editorial content is independent of advertisers, dealers, and other commercial interests. No seller can pay for favourable coverage, for a higher ranking, or for its prices to be presented as the site's own data. Where advertising or affiliate links appear, they are separated from editorial content and labelled as such.
Authors and editors do not accept gifts or payments from dealers in exchange for coverage. If a commercial relationship could reasonably be seen to affect an article, it is disclosed in that article.
Corrections
When an error is found, whether by the editorial team or by a reader, it is corrected promptly and, where the error was material, the correction is noted on the affected page. The site does not silently rewrite history on matters that could have affected readers' decisions.
Readers can report errors through the contact form. Useful reports include the page concerned, the incorrect statement or figure, and the correct information or its source. The team investigates every report and responds where a correction is made.
No Financial Advice
Nothing on Gold Updates is financial advice, investment advice, or a personal recommendation. Articles explain how markets work and how calculations are done; they do not tell readers whether to buy, sell, or hold gold or any other asset. Readers should make their own decisions, and should seek advice from a qualified, regulated adviser before making significant financial decisions.
This boundary is deliberate. The site's role is to provide clear, accurate information. Turning that information into a decision involves personal circumstances — finances, goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon — that the site cannot know and does not presume to judge.
Review and Updating
Articles are reviewed periodically and updated when market structures, standards, or the site's own tools change. Price data and tools are monitored continuously, and any feed or calculation problem is investigated as soon as it is detected.
Readers should still check the date on an article and the timestamp on a price before relying on it, since markets and facts change. An article that was accurate when written may become outdated, and the site welcomes reader feedback pointing out passages that need refreshing.
