Frequently asked questions
Are these spot prices or futures prices?
The table shows live market spot quotes. History charts on each metal page plot futures closes and are always labelled as futures, never as spot.
Why do the four metals move differently?
Gold is driven mainly by investment and reserve demand; silver, platinum and palladium also carry large industrial demand, so economic and automotive news affects them differently.
Can I convert these prices into my currency?
Yes — use the currency selector at the top of this page. Conversion uses the site’s exchange-rate data.
