How the calculation works
- Per holding line: weight in ounces = quantity × unit-to-ounce factor (gram = 1/31.1034768; kilogram = 1000/31.1034768; tola = 11.6638038/31.1034768; ounce = 1).
- Purchase value = quantity × purchase price per unit (in your selected currency).
- Current value = weight in ounces × current price per ounce (live spot, or your override) × exchange rate. Gain or loss and percentage are computed per line and summed for the totals.
- Future value, when you enter a future price, uses the same weight at your assumed price. It is a hypothetical scenario, not a forecast or guarantee.
- Worked example (assumed prices, not live): 2 oz bought at $2,000/oz ($4,000.00), now $2,500/oz ($5,000.00): gain $1,000.00 (+25%); at an assumed future $3,000/oz the value would be $6,000.00.
