How the calculation works
- Budget in USD = budget ÷ exchange rate for your currency.
- Price per gram for your purity = live 24K price per gram × (karat ÷ 24). The purity factor is applied exactly once.
- Purchasable weight in grams = budget in USD ÷ price per gram, then converted: ounces = grams ÷ 31.1034768; kilograms = grams ÷ 1000; tolas = grams ÷ 11.6638038.
- Worked example (assumed price, not live): a $1,200.00 budget at $120.00/g for 24K gold buys 10.0000 g, which is about 0.3215 oz.
