How the calculation works

Weight in grams = entered weight converted to grams (1 troy ounce = 31.1034768 g; 1 kg = 1000 g; 1 tola = 11.6638038 g).
Metal value = weight in grams × live 24K price per gram × (karat ÷ 24) × exchange rate. The purity factor is applied exactly once.
Total = (metal value + making charges + extra costs) × (1 − discount ÷ 100).
Worked example (assumed price, not live): 10 g of 22K gold at $120.00/g, making charges $50, no extras, no discount: metal value 10 × 120 × 22/24 = $1,100.00; total $1,100.00 + $50.00 = $1,150.00.
